Regulating the Menstrual Cycle
When it comes to the monthly mensuration cycle, women are all too familiar with the discomfort and cramps that come with it. On top of that, irregular menstrual cycles are a cause for concern. Regardless of your condition, there exist a few important herbs which are beneficial to the majority of ladies. Here, we introduce some useful tonics that are known to alleviate menstrual cramps, nourish blood, and regulate the menstrual cycle.
A useful tip - the best time to consume these herbs is about 1-2 days after the end of mensuration. It is also not advisable to consume these tonics if your body is hot, as the herbs involved tend to cause slight overheating.
Ba Zhen Soup
Ba Zhen Soup, also known as Eight Treasures Soup, is a well-known tonic soup, which serves to invigorate the blood-qi and promote blood cell production. The key ingredient is dang gui (angelica sinensis) - a popular herb which nourishes the blood and regulates mensuration.

Bai Feng Wan
For those looking for a quicker alternative, Bai Feng Wan pills are the ideal substitute. Similar to the Ba Zhen Soup, the Bai Feng Wan pills serve to reinforce qi, nourish blood, invigorate vital energy, and regulate menstruation.
The pills are enclosed in plastic spheres, which are contained within an outer covering of wax. Each sphere contains numerous small pills for a single serving. Simply compress the wax ball and retrieve the plastic ball within. Consume the pills with warm water.
Bai Feng Wan pills are suitable for more frequent consumption (one serving once a day or once every 2 days).
